Vegan fashion in Spain

Vegan fashion in SpainVegan fashion seems to have come to stay and we are already beginning to find Spanish manufacturers and brands that are betting on this trend. A good example is vegan footwear in Spain, where we can find high-quality brands that offer, for example, excellent quality sports shoes free of elements of animal origin.

We talk about a fashion trend because for many, vegan fashion is just another trend. A passing fashion that they sign up for following the halo of certain celebrities who wear vegan clothes and shoes in their public appearances. But for many, it is something that has come to stay because it has a lot to do with the new sustainable philosophies promoted by the most conscientious youth.

Veganism is committed to respect for all animals and the manufacture of clothing and footwear that do not contain any ingredient of animal origin. Fashion can go this far, but awareness and militancy go a little further and also bets on sustainability. It is not enough to use vegan leather for sneakers, the origin of this synthetic leather has to be sustainable and respectful of nature.

The rejection of products of animal origin in the vegan philosophy does not come only from avoiding animal suffering, although this is of great importance. But also from the fact that the meat and livestock industry is absolutely unsustainable. Too much meat is consumed and there is excessive dependence on products of animal origin and in order to maintain this industry, large soybean crops are carried out, for example, destroying forest areas or jungles to be able to produce enough food for the farm animals.

In addition, these farms produce a series of wastes that also contribute to polluting the planet and damaging the environment. Since meat and products of animal origin are not necessary for the survival of man, nor for the manufacture of clothing or footwear since there are much more sustainable alternatives, vegans are committed not to consume these products to achieve that this industry is reduced.

These ideas are having a strong impact among youth around the world and also among Spanish people, who are increasingly demanding sustainable vegan fashion. And this philosophy can also be found in young entrepreneurs who begin to produce Spanish, vegan and sustainable fashion.
